This is not just a family archive. It’s a striking visual record of mid-century America, captured on vivid 35mm slide film by one woman with a discerning eye and a love of everyday beauty.
Between the early 1950s and late 1960s, my grandmother quietly documented her world—scenes from the 1964 World’s Fair, a vibrant vacation to Puerto Rico, and quiet suburban afternoons in Hicksville, Long Island. Her photographs reflect the spirit of postwar America with a unique intimacy: pastel kitchens, Sunday drives, vintage signage, family life, street scenes, and moments of stillness.
Preserved for decades and recently digitized by the archival experts at Boutique Transfer, each image has been scanned with care to maintain its rich Kodachrome color and distinctive texture. What you’ll find here isn’t stock or staged—it’s authentic, unfiltered Americana.
Prints and select framed prints are available, professionally reproduced from high-resolution scans of the original slides. These are ideal for collectors, designers, curators, set decorators, and lovers of true vintage photography. Each image is a one-of-a-kind time capsule—ready to be seen, framed, and preserved again.
This is mid-century through her eyes. I invite you to explore the archive and discover your own favorites.
